Ethical sourcing of raw materials is not new for The Shepherd Color Company or for many other companies that source materials responsibly. It is a practice many manufacturers have long employed because it is the right thing to do and makes good business sense. However, efforts to source materials responsibly have improved and accelerated during the past five to six years as customers become increasingly aware of the need for their suppliers to establish policies that uphold human rights, avoid the use of conflict minerals, stress zero tolerance for child or forced labour and protect the environment along the supply chain.
