PNG gas discovery

Oil Search reports that the Kimu 2 appraisal well in the forelands region of Papua New Guinea (PNG) has encountered gas in the target Alene reservoir. The Kimu 2 probe was spudded on 22 April and reached a total depth of 1,943m (6,374ft) on 20 May. Oil Search is the operator of the well.
