OPEC ‘saved industry’, says Barkindo

OPEC Secretary-General Mohammad Sanusi Barkindo says that OPEC’s deal with several non-OPEC countries in 2016 saved the oil industry from even worse disaster. Speaking ahead OPEC’s annual meeting in Vienna, Barkindo said the impact of the December 2016 deal to keep oil production at bay to bring oil prices up, has exceeded “even the most optimistic of predictions.”
