Artificial organ technologies around the world

摘要

In May of 2013,1 had the privilege of making my first trip to China on the occasion of the International Society for Apheresis (ISFA) Congress held in the beautiful city of Hangzhou. As a result of the avian flu and the risks of infection, many of our colleagues from North America, Europe, and Japan were not able to make this trip. This congress w,as organized by Professor Lanjuan Li of the First Affliated Hospital, School of Medicine, Zhejiang University, Hangzhou. I was honored to offer the opening remarks on behalf of ISFA President Professor Tohru Tani and ISFA Secretary Treasurer Dr. Yoshihiro Endo, the Board of Trustees and ISFA's worldwide membership. Despite the low attendance from abroad, there were over 1000 attendees from China.
