That Bat Trang thang/part I: inside the workshops of northern Hanoi

In this first part of our two-part study, we look through the major manufacturers in operation in the region, before following on with a more critical analysis of the overall production, supply and demand situation in our November issue. The company has a-workshop at Bat Trang ceramic market and also sells widely in the greater Hanoi region and has a number of representatives in other countries with exports: reaching Japan, Holland, Germany and France. In total, 55 personnel are employed although many more can be taken on when large orders are required to be fulfilled. Around one contaper/month is produced at present of smaller, decorative items from two gas fired kilns which are 6 cu, metres and 2,5 cu. metres in volume.
