摘要

Honey from the South Moravian region of the Czech Republic was analysed for the presence of various chemical contaminants, including PAH, Hg, Cd, Pb and As. Multifloral blossom and honey dew honey samples collected from beekeepers and retail stores were analysed by HPLC and AAS. Concn. of individual PAH in honey samples ranged between 0.02 and 1.93 mug kg--1. The permitted limit for benzo[a]pyrene in infant formulas (1.0 mug kg--1) was not exceeded and fluoranthene was not detected in any of the samples. Concn. of Hg, Cd and Pb were in the ranges 3.24-11.31, 0.95-32.35 and 22.80-177.85 mug kg--1, respectively. Concn. of As exceeded the detection limit only in 3 samples, ranging from 3.51 to 4.35 mug kg--1. Acceptable limits for trace elements in infant formula were met. Results suggest that Czech honey from the South Moravian region is safe for human consumption.
