Russian private-sector railcar manufacturer OVK will deliver 112 innovative tankcars for transporting molten sulphur to Gazprom subsidiary Gazpromtrans in February-April, as the winner of a December tender. More than half of Russia's fleet of 1,300 sulphur railcars are nearing the end of their lifespan and should be scrapped in 2018-20. Gazpromtrans needs the new tankcars to transport molten sulphur from Gazprom's Orenburg gas processing plant (see table).
