Rosneft plans to boost pipeline crude supplies to Chinese state-owned CNPC next year under a 2013 intergovernmental agreement between Russia and China. The Russian company is expected to increase shipments through the East Siberia-Pacific Ocean (ESPO) pipeline spur to China, from Skovorodino in Russia’s far east Amur region, to 28.3mn t (578,000 b/d), up from 16.5mn t this year. At the same time, loadings of seaborne crude for CNPC at the far east Kozmino terminal will fall by 800,000t to 1.7mn t, a source at pipeline operator Transneft says.
