petrobras steps up asset sales

Brazil's state-controlled Petrobras has launched the sale of its 51pc stake in gas distribution subsidiary Gaspetro. Gaspetro holds various shareholdings in 19 of Brazil's 27 regional gas distribu- tion companies. The frms are responsible for combined supply of around 28mn m~3/d through a 10,000km pipeline network. Petrobras in 2016 sold a 49pc stake in Gaspetro to Japanese trading frm Mitsui for around $500mn. Qualifed companies have until 13 March to express interest in the ofer.
