An international tribunal has ruled in favour of Chevron over a long-running pollu- tion lawsuit in Ecuador. The Permanent Court of Arbitration in The Hague held that a $9.5bn judgment made by Ecuadorean courts against Chevron in 2011 was procured through fraud, bribery and corruption, and that it was based on claims already settled in the coun- try years earlier, Chevron says.
