Fracking pilot projects take a step forward

Colombia's energy ministry has issued a decree approving the use of fracking in pilot projects, paving the way for four schemes worth an estimated $650mn. The next step will be for the relevant ministries to issue a regulatory frame- work to govern the technical and environmental aspects of fracking, before companies can apply for an environmental licence from regulator Anla.
