Oil production from Brazil’s Campos basin may fall by over a ffth this year amid lower oil prices and demand, Rio de Janeiro industry trade body Firjan says. Output in the ageing ofshore basin is expected to fall to close to 790,000 b/d on average this year from 1.02mn b/d in January, as state-controlled Petrobras and other producers shut in more expensive oil fows, Firjan says. Its projections for 2020 assume a benchmark Brent price of $25/bl.
