The world steel industry has entered during this decade a new turning point characterized with some features the most important of which is that this decade has seen a swinging in the march of the world steel industry which started in the last quarter of 2008 because of the global economic crisis. At that time, the steel industry in most countries of the world was exposed to a setback due to the drop of prices which reached 50% of the average prices prevailing prior to the last quarter of 2008 along with the reduced demand for steel because of the world economic recession and the drop of oil prices.
