STB monitors operating changes for ‘fairness’

The US Surface Transportation Board (STB) is concerned that aspects of the increasingly popular precision scheduled railroading model might be unfair to shippers. STB chairman Ann Begeman urged Norfolk Southern (NS) and Union Pacific (UP) in separate letters this month to evaluate planned changes to tariffs “from the standpoint of commercial fairness.”
