The EU's net imports of wood pellets fell for the ffth consecutive month in August, as Baltic and Portuguese output continued to recover, while a decline in Danish and Italian demand ofset the increased Dutch and UK import demand. The EU's net imports of wood pellets in August totalled 900,000t, down by 8.7pc from 986,000t in August a year earlier, but up by 24.1pc on July. Of the 28 EU countries, 15 reduced their net pellet imports, with 12 recording a rise and one stable on the year in August.
