Pinnacle lifts sales despite rail, fbre challenges

Canadian producer Pinnacle Renewable Energy increased wood pellet sales by 6.8pc on the year in 2019 to 1.72mn t. Sales were supported by a full year of output from Pinnacle’s 125,000 t/yr Smithers plant in British Columbia (BC) and the 270,000 t/yr Aliceville plant in Alabama — of which Pinnacle owns 70pc and US producer Westervelt 30pc — both of which started up in late 2018.
