Riga wood chip loadings rise, pellets dip in May

Wood chip handling at the Latvian port of Riga increased on both the month and the year in May, as sawmill and pulp mill operations restarted, the Riga port authority said. The port loaded 112,000t of wood chip in May, an increase of 27.3pc from 88,000t in April, and 69.7pc higher on the year.
