The spot price for industrial Vietnamese wood pellets fell by $8/t on the week to $80.25/t fob on Wednesday, as supply outpaced demand resulting in a signifcantly lower-than- expected tender result. Korea Western Power’s (Kowepo) tender for 40,000t of wood pellets or woody biomass solid recovered fuel (SRF) pellets delivered in August-December closed on 11 July and concluded in the mid-$100s/t on a delivered duty paid (ddp) basis - equivalent to around the mid- to high $70s/t on a fob Vietnam basis, Korean traders estimated.
