Polish biomass burn up in 3Q despite power decline

Polish state-controlled utilities Tauron and Energa increased their electricity generation using biomass in the third quarter, despite a strong decline in overall power production. The rise in biomass generation was encouraged by the increasingly high costs of the CO2 allowances needed for coal-fred generation. But biomass still represents just a small share of both frms' fuel mixes.
