The EU 27 reversed its position to become a net exporter of wood pellets in the frst quarter of this year, as a lack of heating demand resulted in increased re-exports. The EU 27 exported a net 12,000t of wood pellets in January-March 2020, compared with a net import of 272,000t in the same period last year. Of the 27 countries, 16 reduced their net pellet imports. And in March, net imports fell to just 6,000t, down from 104,000t in March 2019.
