Atlantic Basin Biomass: Spot dips lower

The Argus cif northwest Europe (NWE) index for industrial wood pellets delivered in the next 90 days edged down by 31￠/t on the week to $198.48/t on Wednesday. No spot deals were reported in the week, but following the end of the heating season, some utilities may have “spare” wood pellet volumes that could change hands, one European trader said. And volumes of EN-plus certified wood pellets, leftover from the residential heating market, were heard offered at around the $190s/t cif NWE for spot delivery – the volumes offered were not SBP certified.
