Biomass market anxious over US shipping delays

European market participants are anxious over potential delays to contracted wood pellet shipments in the aftermath of Hurricane Florence. The hurricane closed ports in North Carolina and prompted US wood pellet producer Enviva to temporarily shut in production at its 600,000 t/yr Sampson pellet plant. Enviva incurred “minimal” damage from the hurricane, it said early last week.
