The 450,000 t/yr Hazlehurst plant in Georgia, in the southeast US, is being offered for sale, industrial equipment manufacturer Astec - which installed the plant - said. The potential sale could offset cash owed to Astec by the end of the year. “The plant is running and our agreements and $60mn loan remain in place… the loan is due in December,” Astec said. “We are working collaboratively with the customer in Georgia as the potential sale of this plant is being contemplated,” it said. “We have multiple groups looking at the plant. We don’t have any firm offers,” it said. It expects a sale could be complete by the end of this year.
