Installations of biomass stoves in Spain reached a record high in 2017, domestic biomass association Avebiom said. A total of 42,728 biomass stove units were installed in Spain last year, up by 19.3pc from 2016, a previous record high. Spain installed 46,027 new biomass stoves and boilers in 2017, 18.5pc more than in 2016, according to Avebiom. But this growth was strongly driven by stove installations, which comprised 92.8pc of total sales in 2017. The country installed 3,299 biomass boilers, an 8.4pc increase from a year earlier when the number of boilers installed fell year on year.
