Chinese utility Kaidi Ecological and Environmental Technology (Kaidi) has brought two dedicated biomass-fired power plants online in the country’s southern provinces of Guizhou and Hunan. A 30MW biomass plant in Congjiang, a rural county in southeast Guizhou, started operations after concluding trial runs on 14 January. This closely follows the start of operations of another 30MW biomass power plant in Yongshun, a county in west Hunan. Trial tests for the Yongshun power plant concluded on 29 December.
