Uniper delays Provence 4 biomass start-up to 1Q18

German utility Uniper has delayed the start of commercial operations at its 170MW Provence 4 coal-to-biomass conversion in Gardanne in southern France to the first quarter of 2018, the firm said. Commercial operations at the wood chip-fuelled facility will begin on 12 March 2018, Uniper said. The converted Provence 4 unit is currently off line during maintenance, but had already started the commissioning phase. The unit has been producing power intermittently since 16 August, remit data show.
