Prices stepped up in the Italian premium wood pellet market, with widely reported shortages of EN plus certified wood pellets, and “demand grossly exceeding offers.” The midpoint price for EN plus certified bagged wood pellets delivered into northern Italy was assessed at ?220/t, up by ?3/t, while the price for bulk EN plus pellets rose even faster, gaining ?4/t to close at ?159/t in the week. Both bagged and bulk prices have been trending upwards since late August, with bagged pellet prices gaining 10pc since 23 August.
