Asian newcomer to produce palm waste pellets

UK-based renewable energy firm Advanced Biomass Solutions (ABS) is looking to secure palm oil wastes for pelletising at its planned biomass production facilities in Asia. The firm seeks to turn oil palm trunks and empty fruit bunches, among other forestry residues, into biomass pellets using its proprietary process which can remove pollutants that can be damaging to power plant boilers, parent company Active Energy Group (AEG) said in a financial report late last week.
