Finnish coal phase-out may boost biomass use

Some generators co-firing biomass with coal in Finland may increase their biomass use or convert to 100pc biomass, incentivised by impending legislation to phase out coal-fired power. Finland's government plans to legislate next year to phase out coal-fired power by 2030 by levying a domestic carbon tax.
