Biomass for PtX: Baywa Re

Biomass plants no longer receiving feed-in subsidies could focus on hydrogen production, German renewables developer Baywa Re has suggested. Biomass-fred plants falling out of the 20-year subsidy period from next year under Germany’s renewable energies law (EEG), could supply the power needed by electrolysers for producing “green hydrogen” or power-to-X (PtX), Munich-based Baywa Re's head of business-to-business sales, Kevin Hayward, said at a conference this week.
