Enviva to build 700,000 t/yr pellet plant

US wood pellet producer Enviva will construct a 700,000 t/ yr wood pellet production plant in Epes, Alabama, Alabama governor Kay Ivey has confrmed. Initially, the plant will produce 700,000 t/yr of wood pellets, although production could increase to 1.15mn t/ yr. Output will be transported by barge on the Tennessee- Tombigbee Waterway for export via the port of Pascagoula, Mississippi, where Enviva is constructing a deepwater export terminal.
