Drax extends 2H shutdown at biomass unit 3

UK generator Drax has extended an outage at its 645MW wood pellet-fred unit 3 at its power plant in Selby, North Yorkshire. The unit will be of line from 25 July-20 November, taking the full shutdown to just under 118 days, an extension of almost three weeks at the beginning of the shutdown. The outage was previously set to start on 14 August. Turbine upgrade work will take place at the unit while it is of line.
