The Argus cif northwest Europe (NWE) index for industrial wood pellets delivered in the next 90 days shed 93c/t in the week to Wednesday, settling at $185.72/t, as low demand for pellets in the spot window persisted. Some European utilities were looking to ofoad volumes, though quantities were unclear. The spread between diferent ofer levels was heard as high as $10/t, with the higher end grazing the low $190s/t. But no immediate demand was visible in the week, with buyers reportedly well-stocked, a market participant said.
