Wood chip throughput at the Latvian port of Liepaja ramped up in October, as the start of the European heating season lifted exports. The port handled 32,000t of wood chips in October, a signifcant rise from the 9,000t loaded in September and 4,000t in October last year. Loadings were also up by 45.5pc on the four-year October average of 22,000t.
