US biomass output rises in 1H

US wood pellet production grew by 17.8pc in the frst half of this year, boosted by industrial-grade wood pellet demand, increased capacity and the restart of a large facility. The US produced 4.51mn t in January-June, up from 3.83mn t in the same period of 2018, according to the US Energy Information Administration (EIA). Premium wood pellet output rose by 18.2pc to 902,000t, while industrial- grade output grew by 17.6pc to 3.61mn t.
