Strike hits spanish ports Tarragona, Barcelona

A 24-hour general strike called in the Spanish region of Cata- lonia has reduced activity to minimum levels at the ports of Tarragona and Barcelona. Traffc of crude, oil products and petrochemicals feed- stocks through pipelines from the ports is not affected by a stevedores' strike, but loading and unloading of most dry goods has halted. Other staff at the ports including tug boat opera- tors have joined in the strike, which could lead to delays later in the day.
