Pemex asphalt output drops for second month

Mexican state-owned Pemex decreased its asphalt production in February for a second month in a row, but output more than doubled over year-earlier levels. Pemex produced 9,150 b/d of asphalt in February, down by approximately 12pc from January levels. Still, output in February was up by 110pc from 4,357 b/d the same month a year earlier. Shortages in January and February last year were caused by sharply lower production at Pemex refneries, which impeded road improvement and maintenance work.
