Study on green environment resources of urban residential areas and multidimensional impact

With the green spaces of urban residential areas as place of study and through a mix of structured observation, questionnaire, graphical exposition, and site measurement, this paper focuses on site characteristics and user perception preference of five typical green spaces of residential areas in Tianhe District, Guangzhou. Integrated "five dimensions" model of spatial awareness is utilized for questionnaire research and statistical analysis as well as users' perception preference to the site, in order for a better understanding of the green spaces of residential areas and their features. The results of the questionnaire show that greening type, location form, and spatial effect are related to people's perception. Public facilities such as benches, road signs, rubbish bins, and night lights are deemed inadequate. The results of social dimension statistics show that green space is an important recreational facility. It is suggested that multidimensional perception of users be highlighted. Besides, many a thinking and recommendation is drawn through analysis and discussion, providing a theory gist for the study on green spaces of residential areas.
