Airbus sells UK wing component unit to GKN Aerospace

Airbus and GKN Aerospace have signed a contract under which GKN will purchase the wing component and assemblies manufacturing unit based at the Airbus site at Filton, neat Bristol in the UK. This will result in all operational busi-ness, assets and activities, within the parameters agreed being transferred to GKN Aerospace. The manufacturing unit includes a total workforce of approximately 1500 employees (both manufacluring workers and support staff), which equates to around 25 percent of the total Airbus workforce at Filton.
