Albany and Safran open composite engine-parts factory

Albany International and Safran have officially opened their new plant in Rochester, New Hampshire, USA, where they will produce three-dimensionally (3D) woven resin-transfer moulded (RTM) composite parts for commercial aircraft engines. The 27 871-m~2 (300 000 square foot) plant, which features a state-of-the-art industrial design, is situated in the Granite State Business Park. The plant, which opened during 2013, will now produce fan cases and fan blades for CFM International's LEAP engine for next-generation single-aisle aircraft.
