A polyamide (PA) 6 from DSM Engineering Plastics is being used to injection mould lightweight oil sumps for the Mercedes-Benz S Class. According to DSM of Sittard, The Netherlands, the oil sumps - made using its Akulon Ultraflow PA 6 - weigh less than metal alternatives and are cheaper to produce.
