Joule heating process for curing thermosets completes Airbus validation trials

摘要

A method for curing epoxy resins and adhesives by passing an electrical current through them has completed its first validation trials at Airbus Getafe. The developers of the process at Airbus and the 1MDEA Materials Institute claim that it is compatible with qualified aerospace resins and adhesives, while being more time- and energy-efficient than traditional curing methods.
