Teijin establishes pilot plant for one-minute moulding process

Teijin of Tokyo, Japan, will establish a pilot plant for the production of carbon fibre-reinforced thermoplastic (CFRTF) components on the premises of its Matsuyama Factory in Ehime Prefecture, Japan. The plant will employ the technology Teijin announced in the first half of 2011, which enables the production of a carbon fibre-reinforced automotive cabin frame in under a minute (see May 2011 issue, Carbon fibre-reinforced car cabin frame moulded in under a minute, p. 2).
