UK Government invests 340 million pounds in aircraft design

The UK Government has agreed to support Airbus with a 340 million pounds repayable launch investment for the development of the A350 XWB (see Airbus composite fuselage development reaches next stage, page 6). The support follows on from an earlier 60 million pounds investment for GNK to design and develop the rear spar and trailing edge of the part-composite aeroplane.
