With advances in computing power of devices such as laptops, smartphones, and tablets, the requirement of sustainable power source is also rising. Lithium-based batteries are the mostly preferred batteries in the above mentioned devices. A 2000 mAh (milli Ampere hour) lithium-ion battery when used in smartphones gives an average operational standby time of 460 hours, and when a smartphone with a lithium- based battery is used in a 2G network, it gives an average operational time of 18.6 hours, which is low. This means after 18.6 hours, the battery of the smartphone needs to be charged again for continual use of the device. In the medical sector, especially in developing nations rural areas where availability of established medical facility is scarce, mobile medical diagnosing devices need to operate for longer hours with less charging cycles. This has created a need in the market for batteries, which can charge quickly, and give more operational hours to the end consumer. The main aim is to reduce the recharging cycles of the batteries used in consumer electronic devices, medical devices, and also in defence application devices.
