Eating more slowly not only helps you enjoy the food, but for most people, it means eating less while still feeling satisfied. Eating less helps control weight.Research suggests several techniques can help make eating slowly a habit: Chew each bite about 25 times. Eat with a different utensil—for example, if you typically use a fork, try chopsticks and vice versa. Put down your fork or eating utensil between each bite. If you are right-handed, eat with your left hand; eat with your right hand, if you are left-handed. Using one or two of these techniques for a few meals can help you practice slowing down.
