TechnipFMC finally bags BP Angolan Platina

TechnipFMC confirmed it has been awarded the subsea contract for BP's Platina project off Angola. Platina, in Block 18, was discovered back in 1999 and has been on and off for many years and was originally due to be part of a separate FPSO cluster. However, in 2015 bidding started for it as a solo tie-back to the existing Greater Plutonio FPSO. BP recently awarded Valaris the contract for its DS-12 drill-ship with work expected to start next April and take around 200 days.
