BW Energy may have written off its investment in the Kudu field off Namibia earlier this year, but yesterday it said it is still hopeful and working on the project. A host of development options have been tried and failed over the 45 years since the discovery of the gas field. Chevron, then Swakor, then Shell, then Chevron again, then Energy Africa, then Tullow, then Gazprom and then Tullow again - and finally BW - have acted as operator.
