Swala given guarantee for Tanzania wildcat approval

Swala Oil and Gas has now been assured by Tanzania that it will receive all permits needed to enable it to start drilling next year. The company holds the Kilosa-Kilombero licence and has been planning to drill the 194m bbl Kito prospect since 2016. This was delayed by a bitter dispute with then partner Otto Energy. In 2017, the company required a final permit from the Tanzania Wildlife Authority. This did not appeal- in time and drilling was postponed to 2018.
