While Aker Energy is finalising the contract award for its FPSO for the Greater Pecan project off Ghana, it is also investigating transactions involving acreage next door and in the wider region. The company opened commercial bids from the four remaining FPSO contractors late last month: Bumi Armada, Modec, SBM and Yinson. Rumours are now focusing on Yinson as the lead contender although both Bumi and SBM have also been mentioned.
